  • Description

The 2017 Casa Burmester Reserva is an elegant, and complex red wine from the Douro region in Portugal. It is made from a blend of traditional Portuguese grape varieties, including Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, and Touriga Nacional.

    Tasting Notes
Rich and intense with aromas of wild blackberries and red berries that are very well balanced by balsamic, chocolate and nutmeg spice. Smooth and rich on the palate with a very pleasant acidity with vanilla and earthy notes of tobacco and leather.

    Serving and Food pairing
Serve this red wine at a temperature of 16-18°C. The oak and dark fruit flavours, combined with subtle spices and earthy notes, make it versatile with robust, flavourful dishes. Enjoy with rich tomato based pasta dishes, roasted beef, venison and other game meats.

Burmester is one of the oldest and most respected Port houses in Portugal, founded in 1750 by Henry Burmester and John Nash in the city of Porto. Known for its traditional methods, Burmester produces a wide range of Ports, including Vintage, Late Bottled Vintage (LBV), Tawny, and White Ports. In addition to Ports, Burmester also creates still wines, particularly in the Douro DOC, with whites and reds gaining recognition for their quality.
