The 2017 Caronne is a very impressive rustic-style, classic claret. It boasts a moderate, peppery nose. Very tannic with spicy black fruits. Impressive on the palate and well-balanced with raspberry notes and a touch of black pepper and burnt toast. Good density with a simple, corpulent finish. An easy drinking high quality wine.

88–90. Barrel Sample. Always a reliable property, this estate has produced a wine that is already open and rounded. Its juicy acidity and fine black fruits are on their way, integrating with the wood and developing well. It should be ready to drink from 2022.
