Description
A 2017 vintage Bordeaux wine. This is the beauty of decent Cru Bourgeois Bordeaux if stored well - it makes demands on the taster (patience and consideration). Not a wine from those who prefer to 'pop and pour' who miss out on most of the quality and character.
The 2017 has a good rich colour - browning just a little at the rim. This bottle demands patience when opening as it needs time to develop. Good blackcurrant nose. Plum, damson on the palate with balancing blackcurrant acidity. Dusty tannins on the end palate at first but the tannin softened in the glass, even without food. With food it is excellent. Rich fruit, good acidity, a good partner.

The Cabernet Sauvignon and 18 months in wood have given the latest release from this always reliable estate great character and structure. Black currants fruits and balanced tannins are sustained by acidity and a juicy, succulent aftertaste. Drink this wine from 2023. Roger Voss
