Description

If any château in all of the classified growths consistently outperforms its original status, it is Lynch Bages. Indeed, this château has long been prized by Pauillac lovers who seek a well made wine.

The 1994 vintage of Château Lynch-Bages, a challenging year in Bordeaux, produced wines of noteworthy quality despite unfavorable weather conditions. The wine's color is garnet or brick-red, with aromas of ripe dark fruits and cedar, tobacco, and leather. The palate is medium to full-bodied, with well-integrated tannins and flavors of blackberry, black cherry, cassis, cigar box, vanilla, and spices. The finish is long and lingering, with tertiary characteristics like dried fruit. Proper decanting and allowing the wine to breathe can enhance the tasting experience.

Serving and Food pairing
This mature Bordeaux should be served at 18 celsius and will require decanting. The wine will pair wonderfully with a variety of foods due to its balanced and elegant profile. Serve with grilled steak, lamb chops, roasted game, aged cheeses such as Comté or Gruyère, and mushroom risotto.
