    Tasting Notes:
    Over three decades of gentle ageing in seasoned oak casks have given this Malmsey remarkable richness, poise, and aromatic complexity. The nose is layered and expressive: treacle tart, medjool dates, cinnamon stick, aged citrus peel, and polished mahogany. Mouth-coating and sweet yet balanced by Madeira’s signature acidity, it delivers flavours of burnt toffee, fig conserve, orange marmalade, spiced cake, and toasted almond. The finish is warming, savoury, and seemingly endless – a wine of genuine depth and gravitas.

    Serving Suggestions:
    It is recommended to pull the cork at least 2 day before enjoying this wine. Decanting will help remove any deposit that may have occurred in bottle over time. Perfect with sticky toffee pudding, fruitcake, dark chocolate desserts, or aged blue cheese. Equally rewarding sipped on its own as a luxurious digestif. Once opened, a Madeira wine should keep for many months without deteriorating.

    This wine should be stored upright in a dark room with constant temperature, ideally no higher than 16ºC.

    Blandy’s is one of Madeira’s most prestigious producers, with over two centuries of expertise. This 1991 Malmsey was aged using the traditional canteiro method, gently heated by the island’s climate, and slowly oxidised in seasoned casks for maximum complexity.

    Blandy's Madeira has been synonymous with quality Madeira wine for over 200 years. The Blandy's are unique in being the only family of all the original founders of the Madeira wine trade to still own and manage their own original wine company. The family has played a leading role in the development of Madeira wine throughout its long history and members of the family continue to live on Madeira, maintaining a tradition that goes back to 1811.
