  • Description

Indulge in a rare expression of Madeira with this magnum (150cl) format of the 1989 Blandy’s Sercial – the ultimate choice for connoisseurs, large-format collectors, or celebratory events. Sercial is the driest and most refined of Madeira styles, and this vintage release is a masterclass in balance, elegance and longevity.

    Tasting Notes:
Intense aromas of dried citrus, sea spray, caramelised almonds and spice leap from the glass. On the palate, it's crisp, dry and deeply complex, featuring layers of roasted nuts, orange oil, ginger and aged cognac tones, all wrapped in bright acidity and a long, saline finish.

    Maturation:
Aged in old American oak casks via the traditional Canteiro method for over 30 years. Time has shaped this wine into something truly extraordinary – dry, vibrant, yet endlessly expressive.

    Serving Suggestions:
It is recommended to pull the cork at least 2 day before enjoying this wine. Decanting will help remove any deposit that may have occurred in bottle over time. An outstanding pairing with hard cheeses, smoked dishes, or elegant starters. Also makes a superb after-dinner conversation piece. Once opened, a Madeira wine should keep for many months without deteriorating.

    Cellarage
This wine should be stored upright in a dark room with constant temperature, ideally no higher than 16ºC.

Blandy's Madeira has been synonymous with quality Madeira wine for over 200 years. The Blandy's are unique in being the only family of all the original founders of the Madeira wine trade to still own and manage their own original wine company. The family has played a leading role in the development of Madeira wine throughout its long history and members of the family continue to live on Madeira, maintaining a tradition that goes back to 1811.
