Description
This 10-Year-Old Port Wine is the result of a blend of aged wine from Quinta da Devesa, developed with noble grapes used in the Douro region, aged in wooden casks at the Quinta da Devesa cellars.
Tasting Notes
Sweet nutty notes of marzipan blended with toasty blanched almonds and a hint of spirit. Soft, smooth and well rounded with crème caramel and flavors of Frangelico. Creamy on the opening, shows its power and its structure, evolving nicely and finishing with grip and tension. There is a good balance of sweetness and acidity, which gives it a fresh and elegant profile. Long and pleasing finish, with lingering notes of caramel, dried fruits, and a hint of oak.
Serving & Food Pairing:
Tawny Ports are ready-to drink and do not require decanting. Best enjoyed slightly chilled at 12-13ºC they will work wonders if pairing with treacle tart, crème brulee or nut based desserts, like hazelnut praline.
A historic vineyard, Quinta da Devesa was already included as a quality grape growing plot in the first map of the Douro Demarcated Region. The most important history of the property began in 1941 when Jose Fortunato Junior and his wife, Antonia Soares Fortunato acquired Quinta da Devesa and decided to pour their lifetime passion for port wine into the property through great investment in port and, later, dry wine production. Over seventy years later, harvests of superior quality have been kept and stored in wooden casks in the winery cellars. These are used today to produce the famed tawny and aged white port blends alongside some exceptional colheita ports dating back to 1944.

Reviews
92 Points - Roy Hersh
Clean, blonde colour. Intense nose, with notes of dried fruit and light vanilla. Good complexity in the mouth, smooth and long at the end of the mouth.
90 Points - Mark Squires (eRobert Parker)
The NV 10 Year Old Tawny Porto was bottled in 2017 with a bar-top cork and 109 grams of sugar. In fact, said the winemaker, this has more than 10 years of average age. This seemed a little creamy on opening, but it ultimately showed its power and its structure, evolving nicely and finishing with grip and tension. This is a 10 that emphasizes complexity. It is nicely done. July 2018 (Mark Squires)
91 Points - Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast Magazine
Already turning to an old-gold color, this rich, sweet wine has a toffee character that has given the Port some age. It hints at orange peel along with dried fruits and a dense and peppery aftertaste. Drink now.
