  • Description

The 2005 Quinta das Carvalhas Vintage Port is a classic example of a robust and age-worthy port wine from one of the oldest and most prestigious vineyards in the Douro Valley.

    Tasting Notes
The wine exhibits a deep, almost opaque ruby colour, typical of younger vintage ports. On the nose, it presents an intense bouquet of dark fruits, such as blackberries and plums, with additional layers of spice, chocolate, and subtle floral notes. The palate is rich, full-bodied, with concentrated flavours of ripe black fruits, dark chocolate, licorice, and earthiness. It has firm tannins and well-balanced acidity, making it suitable for long-term aging.

    Serving Tips & Food Pairing
When mature this port will need to be decanted to remove sediment. Serve at room temperature on its own, with steak or vintage mature blue cheeses or top quality chocolate.

Deep purple in colour, with concentrated aromas of black plum fruit vegetable, such as rock rose, blackberry, red fruits on a background of wild. The palate is sweet velvet, a sweet fruit, firm tannins ripe and very round, full of elegance and long finish and persistent.
