  • Description

The 1995 Château Léoville Barton is a quintessential Saint-Julien, offering remarkable structure, elegance, and depth typical of the estate's classic style. On the nose, it opens with an enticing bouquet of dark currants, blackberry, and plum, complemented by secondary aromas of cedar, tobacco, and graphite. The palate is robust and full-bodied, with firm yet refined tannins that have integrated beautifully over time. Flavors of black fruits, leather, and earthy undertones are underscored by a mineral streak, showcasing the wine’s complexity and balance. The acidity adds vibrancy, making it fresh and lively even with decades of age. The finish is long and persistent, with notes of spice, oak, and a subtle hint of cocoa. The 1995 Léoville Barton is a beautifully aging wine with the finesse and longevity that makes it an excellent choice for collectors, ready to enjoy now or cellar for further development.

Reviews: A lovely classic Bordeaux nose: autumn leaves, wood and dried fruits. Quite and acidic entry with a soft tannic core. A potentially great wine struggling against the vintage. A fine 1993 like La Dominique.Wine Journal

This estate has been extremely successful in recent vintages. One of the biggest, richest, most impressive wines of the vintage, Leoville-Barton's 1993 reveals a saturated black/purple color, dense, foresty, rich, blackcurrant, and chocolatey aromas and flavors, excellent ripeness and depth, good glycerin, and hard tannin in the finish. This is a backward, exceptionally well-endowed 1993 that needs another 5-7 years of cellaring. It should keep for 20 years. Robert parker 1997
