Description
The 1952 Burmester Colheita Port is a rare, multi-awarded port wine from a single vintage that has undergone extensive aging in cask. This wine is a great example of how time and craftsmanship can come together to create a profound and memorable tasting experience.
Tasting notes
Amber with golden edges, indicative of its long aging in wooden casks. On the nose, complex aromas of figs, prunes, dates , almonds and hazelnuts intermingle with notes of caramel, toffee, and subtle spices like cinnamon and nutmeg. The palate is rich, smooth, and well-balanced, with layers of dried fruits, honey, wood spices, and toasted almonds. It finishes long and persistently with a fine balance of sweetness and acidity. Silky and refined with the complexity that comes from decades of aging.
Serving & Food Pairing:
Best enjoyed slightly chilled, often as a dessert wine. It pairs beautifully with desserts like almond tart, dried fruit dishes, and creamy cheeses, or it can be sipped on its own to appreciate its full complexity.

How to Store Your Colheita Port:
Colheita Port should be stored in a cool and dry place, sheltered from light and temperature fluctuations, and the bottle should remain in an upright position. If stored correctly, Colheita Ports will keep for decades in the bottle. Over time, it is natural that a little sediment will form at the bottom of the bottle. Once opened colheita Port should be stored in a fridge and should be consumed within 3 months.

***95 Points Wine Advocate - Mark Squire Mar 2016***
The 1952 Colheita, bottled in November 2015, is a field blend coming in at 127.9 grams per liter of residual sugar. When people talk about old Tawnies being dried out, maybe they should taste this. Lush, surprisingly fresh and enticingly sweet on the finish, this is a rather elegant Burmester that is perfectly balanced and very friendly, yet nicely concentrated. It proves its age by the fine tension on the finish coupled with the complex medley of flavors that old Tawnies produce. The acidity gives this some life and vigor that many others do not have. It retains that classic, long finish. This seems so young and lively that it will be hard to stop drinking it. It doesn't immediately make you go "wow," but it is so easy to drink that you may not stop until there's none left.
Reviews:
"(2015) Lovely dark caramel colour, with some truffle and tea notes, edges of olive and green fruits (fig). The maturity on the palate is obvious, again with fabulous sweetness and brown sugar richness, Muscovado and walnuts, but the hallmark of the fresh orange and lemon acidity plays against that and the coffee and walnut cake sweetness and richness."
