Description

The Fino Eléctrico from the renown Toro Albala Winery is a beautifully crafted fino sherry-style wine that showcases the best of Montilla-Moriles winemaking traditions. Its unique flavour profile and versatile pairing options make it a standout choice for those looking to explore the world of fino sherries.

The wine is presented in a unique light-bulb decanter that can be re-used. The light-bulb design relates to the Toro Albala history when the winery took over the local power plant in 1922.

Eléctrico is a fino wine made of 100% Pedro Ximénez grapes, though a biological ageing under veil of flor, produced through the criaderas and solera system during a 5-year period. The alcoholic content is obtained in a natural way.

Tasting notes
A superb, complex and powerful Fino with aromas of almond, green-fruit, iodine and yeasty notes from the flor. The palate conveys dry, crisp texture with a refreshing acidity, and a long, savoury finish with a pleasant lingering aftertaste of nuts and a subtle bitterness. A very pleasant wine that invites you to keep drinking.

Serving & Food Pairing
Serve chilled, ideally between 8-10°C. This fino is excellent with tapas, particularly olives, almonds, Iberian ham, and manchego cheese. Also pairs well with seafood, such as oysters, prawns, and grilled fish, and can complement sushi and other umami-rich dishes.

Bodegas Toro Albalá is a prestigious winery with a rich heritage and a commitment to crafting exceptional Pedro Ximénez wines. ***89 Points- Robert Parker's Wine Advocate***
They do a bottling in March every year, and I tasted the NV Fino Eléctrico del Lagar, bottled with an average age of ten years. Every March they take the wine they are going to sell in the next 12 months and transfer it to stainless steel vats, where it's kept to be bottled unfined and unfiltered; they bottle it almost when they receive the orders, to offer a wine as fresh as possible. This Fino del Lagar is bottled with ten years of flor. Bright-colored and with some greenish tints, the nose is a mixture of yeasts, dry herbs and wet chalk. The palate is medium-bodied, with a very tasty finish, a little dusty, ending salty. These PX Finos are always fatter than those produced with Palomino, with character and some rusticity. 40,000 bottles. The price given is for 500-milliliters. 2017 Luis Gutierrez
