Description
These bottles of Warre 1922 Vintage Port was taken from a house in Halifax associated with the Holdsworth family who were big in textiles at the turn of the 20th Century. The cellar has remained closed for 60 years until the new owners opened it to discover a treasure trove of wines and Ports including many bottles from 1922 and 1947. All of the Port has been undisturbed and stored in cool conditions. The colour is exceptional for wines of this era.
A rare opportunity to purchase a rare bottle of Warre's 1922 Vintage Port taken from an exceptional cellar.
Warre's, one of the oldest British port houses, established in 1670 in the Douro Valley of Portugal. Vintage ports like Warre's 1922 are made from the best grapes of a single harvest and are typically bottled young, requiring years (or decades) of aging to develop their full flavor and complexity.
