  • Description

The 1997 vintage Armagnac by Ryst Dupeyron is another year-specific expression from producers in the Armagnac region of France. Each vintage captures the unique climate and conditions of that year, affecting the grapes and the resulting spirit.

    Tasting Notes
There is a wonderful contrast between the sweet and sour flavours of wood, amplified by the strong alcoholic degree. Rich palate feeling the alcohol and the concentration of prunes, spicy, with persistent flavour of rancio and spices, but round, soft and long in the finish. The tannins are very present, but full-bodied and round.

    Serving & Food Pairing
Armagnac is traditionally enjoyed neat, allowing you to fully appreciate its complexity. However, it can be paired with a variety of cheeses like Roquefort, Comté, high quality dark chocolate, caramel-based desserts and roasted or candied nuts.

Maison Ryst-Dupeyron, a prestigious Armagnac house in Gascony, France, has a rich history dating back to 1832. After a devastating fire destroyed their cellars in 1904, they discovered that barrels hidden in nearby vineyards had exceptional qualities. This led to the creation of "Armagnac de terroir," or "Armagnac of the land," which showcases the family's resilience and commitment to producing exceptional Armagnac.

    How to store your Armagnac
Store the bottle upright to minimize contact between the spirit and the cork. This reduces the risk of the cork deteriorating. Keep the bottle in a cool, dark place, ideally between 15-20°C and avoid temperature fluctuations. Store the bottle away from direct sunlight and artificial light.
