Description
1982 was characterised by above average temperatures and an ample water supply, resulting in a long maturation. Containing about 70% Barroca, this vintage was made almost exclusively of grapes from Quinta da Ervamoira.
The wine has discreet and generous aromas of violet, plum, chocolate and ripe fruit, with notes of wood and vanilla. Velvety in the mouth, with a smooth intensity. The wine is well balanced with a light dried prune flavour supported by ripe tannins. The wine will only improve with time.

Opaque garnet with a touch of brick. Floral and heady, with a sweet, Christmas-cake and figgy-pudding nose that’s developing rather nicely. Fat and sweet, with resolved tannins, good length and a chocolate finish. Not a renowned vintage, but an accomplished wine. (TJ)- Jancis Robinson.com
