The 1992 Quinta de la Rosa Vintage Port offers a chance to enjoy a well-crafted wine from a reputable producer and a noteworthy vintage year. Its rich complexity, aging potential, and harmonious balance make it a standout choice for special occasions or as a memorable addition to a port wine collection.

    Tasting Notes
The 1992 Quinta de la Rosa has a deep garnet color, indicative of its maturity and concentration. The bouquet is rich and complex, featuring aromas of dark berries, blackcurrants, and plums, along with notes of figs, raisins, and subtle hints of spice and cedar. Full-bodied and robust on the palate, with a smooth texture and well-integrated tannins. The palate showcases flavors of ripe black fruits, dark chocolate, and a touch of licorice, balanced by a refreshing acidity. The wine has a long, elegant finish with lingering flavors of fruit and spice.

Aging Potential: Vintage ports are known for their longevity, and the 1992 Quinta de la Rosa Vintage Port is no exception. With proper cellaring, it can continue to develop and improve over several decades.

Serving and food pairing suggestions Serve slightly below room temperature, around 60-65°F (15-18°C), to best appreciate its complex flavors and aromas. It is recommended to decant this vintage port to remove any sediment and allow the wine to breathe, which helps to fully express its bouquet and flavor profile.

Food Pairing: Pairs well with a variety of foods, including strong cheeses like Stilton or Roquefort, dark chocolate desserts, and rich, nutty cakes. It can also be enjoyed on its own as a contemplative dessert wine.

    About Quinta de la Rosa
Quinta de La Rosa is a small estate in the heart of the Port wine-growing region in Alto Douro, near Pinhao, owned and operated by the Bergqvist family.
The Quinta and its vineyards were given to the Bergqvist family as a Christening present by the Feuerheerds, who established the property in 1906. It remains one of the few Single Quinta where the vineyards start at the bank of the Douro and rise 450 meters to the towering top of the mountain. From the river's edge to the top, one passes through 11 different microclimates. This gives La Rosa great flexibility to add variety and complexity to its Ports.La Rosa's classic house style achieved by slow maceration in traditional granite 'Lagares' has produced a wine full of luscious forward fruit with a very attractive nose and a long velvety slightly drier finish across the palate.

"The powerhouse 1992 Vintage Port exhibits a huge, highly extracted, chocolate and black-raspberry-scented nose, full body, unctuously-textured flavors, moderate tannin, and a chewy, long finish. It requires 7-8 years of cellaring as it is revealing more structure than other 1992s. It should keep for 25-30 years." Robert Parker Wine Advocate.
