Tasting Notes
Deep amber with mahogany highlights and a subtle greenish hue, indicating extensive aging. Its aroma is complex, with notes of dried fruits, caramel, toffee, butterscotch, spices, vanilla, aged oak, roasted coffee, and dark chocolate. The palate is smooth and full-bodied, with layers of flavours including dried fruits, caramel, honey, spices, nutmeg, cinnamon, and toasted almonds. The finish is elegant and incredibly longith a balanced sweetness and a complex, lingering aftertaste of nuts, toffee, and spices.
Serving & Food Pairing:
Tawny Ports are ready-to drink and do not require decanting. Best enjoyed slightly chilled at 12-13ºC they will work wonders if pairing with treacle tart, crème brulee or nut based desserts, like hazelnut praline.

30 Aug, 2024 – Light-amber with a shy nose reminiscent of dried herbs, walnuts and cigar box. The creamy, energetic palate has caramel character and extraordinary acidity. Dense and unctuous but discreetly sweet. Made from a 1967 colheita and a more flavorful wine from 1978, plus 5% from a 1920s vintage. Drink now.

This 50 Year Old Colheita Port from Quinta das Carvalhas, was made with Port from the vast and rich collection of old Port wines found in the cellars in Nova de Gaia. The soul and body of this 50 year old is based on a tawny from 1967, a Porto Colheita from 1976 and a dash of Port from 1920, aged in oak casks. The result is a magnificent amber-coloured wine, which on the nose reveals notes of varnish and cedar leaves and an almost citrusy freshness. When tasted, it is broad and powerful, with flavours of dried fruits. It has a long and persistent finish.

Aromas of toffee, caramel and pecan pie. Very rich, concentrated and intense with some zesty acidity and sappy crisp finish.
