Description
Quevedo's Organic Reserve Ruby Port is a premium fortified wine produced from organically farmed grapes at Quinta da Trovisca in Portugal's Douro Valley. This port is known for its deep ruby color with a purple edge and complex aromas of black currant, dark chocolate, sandalwood, and black pepper. On the palate, it offers a soft, fresh entry filled with ripe black and red fruits, complemented by refined tannins and a finish featuring floral, spicy, and dark chocolate notes. This port is a testament to Quevedo's commitment to organic viticulture, offering a wine of great intensity and purity from their organic vineyards.
The wine is crafted from a blend of grape varieties, including Touriga Franca (44%), Tinta Roriz (38%), Touriga Nacional (12%), and Sousão (6%). It undergoes fermentation with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks and is aged for an average of three years in stainless steel, preserving its intensity and purity.
For pairing, this port complements dark chocolate, blue cheese, and fruit pies. It is best served slightly chilled, between 14–16°C.

This ripe, sweet and jammy Port is full of black fruits and soft tannins. Stewed berry flavors give acidity to the generous fruitiness and texture. Drink now. Organic. Roger Voss

They have been growing organic grapes since 2012 at Quinta da Trovisca, including using compost made from pips, skins and seeds left over from winemaking.
Glossy, saturated black-purple – notably deeper than its non-organic Ruby Reserve stablemate. Spicy aromatics with liqueur blackberry and quite a hit of spirit that gets up the nose. But on the palate this gives a lot more; full, rich and black-fruited, with a velvety texture at the beginning, middle and (pretty decent length) end. (TJ)Tim Jackson MW.
