Two bottles of the Messias Vinho Verde, White Wine
This wine offers a delightful and approachable wine experience. With a refreshing spritz and low alcohol this Vinho Verde from Messias is food friendly, easy drinking and would find a fitting space in any lunch table or can simply be enjoyed as an aperitif throughout the day. In the glass it reveals a pale lemon colour with green highlights whilst on the nose it displays fresh aromas of lime, green citrus fruit, pear and apple. On the palate it is crisp and fruity with refreshing acidity and persistent citrus notes. Fresh and moreish without the guilt tag, it can be enjoyed with tapas, seafood, salads, and, surprisingly pizza, but moreover it can be a component to a long drink by adding some soda, fresh mint and a slice of lemon.
Two bottles of the Devesa Rosé Wine
This is an elegant and refreshing choice, perfect for warm weather and versatile enough to complement a wide range of foods. Its delicate balance of fruit, acidity, and minerality makes it an excellent representation of the quality and craftsmanship associated with the Douro Valley. On the nose strawberry, raspberry, a touch of roses. Youthful with good aromatic intensity with floral notes and red fruits, such as strawberry and raspberry. On the palate, it is light, fresh and balanced. Long and greedy finish. Paired nicely with salmon.
Two bottles of the Claudia Red Wine
This red displays the elegant and pure style of Douro, while respecting its wild roots. Dark cherry in colour, expressive aromas of dark berries combined with notes of wild flowers. The 2020 reserve red has dark fruit flavours like juicy blackberry and ripe plum, rounded out with a touch of spice from oak barrel aging and a long, luxurious finish. The year 2020 experienced unusual heat throughout all seasons but with adequate levels of rainfall, resulting in good, albeit rapid, grape maturation. The harvest began in August and was brief, ensuring that the grapes were picked at their ideal level of maturity. Would pair nicely with Filet mignon, Wellington beef, vegan burger.
