  • Description

The 2020 Pavillon Rouge du Château Margaux is the second wine of the prestigious Château Margaux, located in the Margaux appellation of Bordeaux, France. Pavillon Rouge is made with the same care and attention to detail as the estate's first wine but is often more approachable in its youth, offering a glimpse of Château Margaux's elegance and complexity at a more accessible price.

Tasting Notes:The 2020 Pavillon Rouge is a blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, 2% Cabernet Franc
Nose: is expressive with vibrant aromas of ripe blackcurrant, blackberry, and dark cherry, complemented by floral notes of violets, along with hints of cedar, tobacco, and a touch of graphite. Palate: On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, with a silky texture and fine, integrated tannins. You’ll find flavors of dark fruits like blackberries and black cherries, along with nuances of cocoa, vanilla, and spice from the oak aging. It’s fresh and vibrant, with a mineral backbone that adds complexity.
Finish: Long and elegant, with a balanced acidity and fine tannins, leaving a lingering impression of dark fruit, spice, and a touch of earthiness.
Body: Medium to full-bodied, with a smooth texture and well-structured tannins.

Aging Potential: The 2020 Pavillon Rouge has the potential to age gracefully for 10–20 years. While it can be enjoyed in its youth with some decanting, it will continue to develop more complexity and integration of flavors over time, with an ideal drinking window between 2025 and 2040.
