  • Description

Les Forts de Latour 1974 is the second wine of Château Latour, one of Bordeaux's first-growth estates in the Pauillac appellation. While Château Latour produces world-class wines, the 1974 vintage was notoriously difficult for Bordeaux due to poor weather conditions throughout the growing season, including heavy rain and cool temperatures. As a result, many wines from that year are considered lighter and less age-worthy than those from better vintages. While it may not have the power or longevity of great vintages, it can still offer a fascinating glimpse into the history and craftsmanship of Château Latour. It’s best approached with the understanding that it is well past its peak, and any remaining bottles could be fragile, offering a mature, nuanced experience rather than bold flavors.
