We are delighted to exclusively offer the Kopke Sao Luiz Vintage Port from the very good 2012 vintage.
This is a wonderfully soft Port with a great aftertaste. A Port to enjoy!

The 2012 Quinta de Sao Luiz vintage port reveals flavours of black fruit, with notes of plum, raspberry and cherry, and a touch of chocolate truffles. This 2012 Kopke Quinta de São Luiz Vintage is perfect with chocolate desserts, like chocolate fondants with redcurrant sauce or black chocolate mousse. Blue or hard cheeses, “Serra da Estrela” type, are also an excellent combination.

Kopke is the oldest Port wine house. It was established in 1638, even before there was a Demarcated Region of the Douro. This House built an impeccable reputation based on the highest quality. It is leader in the production of Port Tawny Colheita wines, including white port, Kopke has a remarkable range of special category Ports, also producing excellent DOC Douro wines

    *** 90 Points- The Wine Advocate ***
The 2012 Quinta S. Luiz Single Quinta Port was bottled in July, 2014. It is an old vine field blend (over 50 years, 50%), Touriga Nacional (25%) and Touriga Franca (25%), coming in at 92 grams per liter of residual sugar. Tight from moment one, this is a powerful Single Quinta Port that is all about the focus. Dry, serious and intense, it shows significant pop on the finish and the ability to age. However, it only hinted at its best feature on Day 1: a fresh and transparent feel to it that is very pleasing, plus some nuances of minerality to go with its restrained sweetness and astringency. On Day 2, it was lovely, expressive and beautifully balanced, controlling its power far better. Not quite as immediately impressive in Sogevinus' lineup as some of the others, it comes along very well and overtakes most all of them. It won't ever be the biggest, most intense or most concentrated Port you'll see, but it does everything rather well. It is a creature of its vintage – crisp, fresh, elegant and lively. While cellaring this is a very good idea, it might be approachable on the younger side, as these things go. Mark Squires- Wine Advocate- 2015
