    Tasting Notes
A deep amber port wine with a golden-amber rim, the 1965 Kopke Colheita Port is showcasing its extensive aging process. The aroma is intense and multifaceted, with notes of dried fruits, toffee, caramel, brown sugar, roasted nuts, and spice. The palate is smooth and velvety, with flavours deeply integrated, including dried fruits, caramel, nutty character, toasted walnuts, almonds, molasses, toffee, and chocolate. The finish is long and complex, with lingering flavours of dried fruits, caramel, and spice. The aftertaste is elegant and persistent, with a pleasing combination of sweetness and acidity. This magnificent wine is perfect for special occasions and contemplative sipping.

    Serving & Food Pairing:
Colheita Ports are ready-to drink and do not require decanting. Best enjoyed slightly chilled at 12-13ºC they will work wonders if pairing with treacle tart, crème brulee or nut based desserts, like hazelnut praline. Once opened colheita Port should be stored in a fridge and should be consumed within 3 months.

Kopke is one of the oldest port wine houses in Portugal and is renowned for its high-quality fortified wines. Established in 1638 by Cristiano Köpke, a German diplomat, Kopke has a long history of producing exceptional port wines. Kopke is particularly known for its Colheita Ports, which are single vintage tawny ports aged in oak barrels for a minimum of seven years before bottling. These ports offer a unique expression of a single vintage and are highly prized by port wine enthusiasts. The house also produces a range of other port styles, including vintage ports, white ports, and aged tawnies. Kopke's ports are celebrated for their elegance, complexity, and longevity, making them a favorite among collectors and connoisseurs.

Golden brown in colour, this is a fabulously concentrated sweet wine with honey, raisins, dates and even a hint of treacle. Some old furniture, roasted nuts and spice. Such complexity.

    95 Points - GOLD- Decanter 2024
A luxurious treat with seductive cocoa nib and mocha notes swaddled in a gloriously rich blanket of dates and toffee, finishing with a sweet and sour magnificence.
