  • Description

The 1983 Janneau Armagnac is a distinguished and refined spirit that showcases the elegance and depth that comes with extended aging. Its rich, multi-layered profile makes for an exceptional gift, particularly for someone who appreciates fine spirits or has a special connection to the year 1994, such as a birthday, anniversary, or other significant event.

    Tasting Notes
The nose features a complex bouquet of dried fruits, spices, vanilla, caramel, honey, oak, and smokiness. The palate is smooth and velvety, with primary flavors of dried apricots, raisins, and candied orange peel. Mid-palate flavors include dark chocolate, toffee, and roasted nuts, with pronounced spice notes. Layers of flavor unfold, including leather, tobacco, and a delicate floral note. The finish is long and lingering, with a warm and satisfying conclusion. The final notes are a gentle fade of oak, spice, and sweet fruit.

    Serving & Food Pairing:
Even though it can be enjoyed as an apéritif, Armagnac is best appreciated at the end of a meal. It pairs well with coffee or a Cuban or Dominican cigar, as the flavours of cocoa, honey and black pepper enhance its aromas. Armagnac is served neat, at room temperature, in a tulip glass.

Established in 1851, Janneau is a renowned Armagnac house known for its traditional production methods and high-quality spirits. Their unique distillation method combines column and pot stills, aiming for the production of more refined and complex spirits.

    How to store your Armagnac
Store the bottle upright to minimize contact between the spirit and the cork. This reduces the risk of the cork deteriorating. Keep the bottle in a cool, dark place, ideally between 15-20°C and avoid temperature fluctuations. Store the bottle away from direct sunlight and artificial light.
