Description
Hooper's 2017 Late Bottled Vintage (LBV) Port is a distinguished fortified wine from Portugal's Douro Valley. LBV ports are crafted from a single year's harvest and aged in oak casks for four to six years before bottling, allowing them to develop rich and complex flavors.
Tasting Notes: This 2017 LBV presents a deep ruby hue with aromatic notes of ripe red fruits, such as cherries and plums, complemented by subtle hints of spice and dark chocolate. On the palate, it offers a harmonious blend of fruit sweetness and well-integrated tannins, leading to a smooth, lingering finish.
Serving Suggestions: Best enjoyed slightly chilled, between 16°C and 18°C. It pairs excellently with strong cheeses like Stilton or Roquefort, dark chocolate desserts, or can be savored on its own as a digestif.
Storage: Store the bottle upright in a cool, dark place. Once opened, it is recommended to consume within a few weeks to maintain optimal flavor.
About Hooper's Port
Hooper’s Port, founded by London wine merchant Richard Hooper in the 19th century, quickly became a respected brand among British port enthusiasts for its dedication to traditional production methods and quality. In 1951, it was acquired by Real Companhia Velha, Portugal's oldest wine company, which enhanced its reach and resources. By 1971, Hooper's was fully integrated under Real Companhia Velha, sourcing premium grapes from the renowned Quinta Nova vineyard in the Douro Valley.
Today, Hooper’s produces a range of classic ports—Vintage, Late Bottled Vintage, and Colheita—recognized for their smooth profiles and complex flavors developed through extensive cask aging. With its historic commitment to quality,
