Description
The 2004 Fleur Cardinale is a gorgeous deep, rich wine, pure maroon colour. Rather shy nose to start that takes some coaxing and then aromas of red plum, boysenberry, cassis, fennel seed, cedar and suede unfurl. Lovely nose! Full bodied, dry and still surprisingly tannic on the palate, but good fruit extract and pitched acidity. The flavours are all deep red and black fruits, lots of black plum, a bit of bramble, charred oak, sous bois and chalk. Very smooth and nicely integrated. Finishes long, juicy and with lingering fruit. No where near past its prime. Drinking beautifully right now! (Cellar Tracker Review - 2021).
