Description

This 1972 Eiswein Auslese is very developed, powerful and quite tertiary nose with aromas of bruised apples, dried stone fruits, some golden raisins, a little bit of burnt sugar and a hint honeyed floral character. The wine is intense, acidic, moderately full-bodied and quite oily on the palate with pretty sweet flavors of pronounced golden raisins, some apple jam, a little bit of oxidative nuttiness, a hint of molasses and a touch of dried apricot. The high acidity makes the wine quite structured and keeps the sweetness at bay. The finish is quite developed and rather oxidative with long flavours. Very good for what is a difficult vintage.
