" Brilliant old/ancient champagne, from an AMC live auction. Mid gold color perhaps, hard to see in the restaurant. Multiple lazy streams of pinpoint bubbles, one with a couronne. Some foam when purging into the glass. This bottle (first of four in the lot) was obviously stored perfectly over the decades. Beautiful fragrance of chestnuts, caramel, honey, toffee - but not coffee. Medium weight with a nice prickle on the tongue. Lingering. At its best cool rather than ice cold or room temperature.
