Description
A 2010 Phelan Segur is a well-made Cru Bourgeois that has achieved outstanding ratings from wine critics. It exhibits a dark ruby colour, and beautiful cassis, dark forest fruit and sweet spices. Same on the palate with additional eucalyptus notes. Concentrated and juicy with juicy fruits, good acidity and tannin, balanced by some pleasant sweetness. A rich and beautiful wine.
Reviews:
The 2010 Phelan Ségur has a really lovely bouquet with brambly red fruit, brown spices, touches of damp undergrowth and tobacco. This feels complex and very well defined. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannins, good acidity, very harmonious with an elegant off-dry, slightly savoury finish. It is not the most ambitious Saint-Estèphe but there is plenty of charm here. I marked this wine down in the past, but it certainly beginning to blossom.
