Description

The Chateau Martinens from the legendary 1961 Bordeaux vintage is an impressively dark wine, ruby coloured with tawny rim. Typical mature Margaux nose with cedar, leather, and cassis. Body is on the full side for a Bordeaux and palate has flavours of licorice, bitter chocolate, cedar, medicinal nuances and plummy fruit. The wine is characterised by its sweet ripe fruit and mature aromas typical of its place and still lively with resolved tannins. This is a lovely, mature wine.
