"this is a classic mature Claret that is delectable to drink now…and not too much later. There is a palpable coolness, almost aloofness on the nose that one often finds on this vintage, the overriding sense that this was a good vintage but not a hot one. It offers graphite, sous-bois and tobacco, the fruit having long ebbed away, yet it is still fresh and beautifully defined. The palate is medium-bodied and a little austere. Yet there is a sense of natural balance with fresh acidity and beguiling tertiary and cedar notes towards the finish. Wonderful. Drink now. " Niel Martin, Wine Journal Tasted 2012
