Description

Lafaurie-Peyraguey has produced some of Sauternes' most powerful wines for more than two decades now. The 2003 is no exception. Bordeaux's hottest summer on record produced a full-bodied dessert wine with incredibly intense apricot and honey aromas. The château uses more than 90 percent Sémillon to achieve that concentration, planted on 100 acres of gravel that surround an imposing 13th century fortress château. 6,250 cases made.

Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey, nestled in the Sauternes appellation of Bordeaux, France, is renowned for its esteemed history and exceptional sweet wines. With origins dating back to the 17th century, the estate's vineyards span approximately 40 hectares, primarily planted with Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Muscadelle grapes. Benefitting from gravelly and sandy soils, Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey crafts wines that embody the elegance and complexity of Sauternes terroir. Known for their rich sweetness, vibrant acidity, and intense botrytis character, the estate's wines exhibit ripe fruit flavors, honeyed notes, and a distinct Sauternes style.
