Half the oak barrels used to age the wine for eighteen months are renewed every year.
Overall production : 7500 caisses
Blending : 52 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc, 7% Petit Verdot
Tasting :
From birth to bottling, this vintage was always impressive. Its nose is exuberant, mixing notes of complex fruit, from spicy to exotic aromas such as mango. At mouth, the wine is full bodied and perfectly balanced in spite of the high level of alcohol. The soft tannins hit the palate and confirm that the wine is incredibly long and generous. This wine already tastes delicious, but one can bet it will develop very nicely for those who will be patient!

Reviews
** 90+ Points Robert Parker **
"A third-growth, this intense, powerful and concentrated wine should play to its strengths in a vintage such as 2005, with its enormous tannin and density. This is one of the more backward of the 2005s, quite masculine, tannic and bold, with a deep ruby/purple color, lots of spice, a touch of wood and new oak as well as a medium to full-bodied, rather backward, tannic mouthfeel. It’s all there, and the wine certainly has plenty of concentration, but it needs another 3-5 years of cellaring. It should drink well for at least a quarter of a century." Robert Parker 2013.
