  • Description

The 1969 Chateau Croizet Bages is a classic Bordeaux from a weak vintage. These bottles are from a good cellar, where they have been well-stored since original purchase.

Tasting notes: The wine is primarily made from Cabernet Sauvignon, with smaller proportions of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Expect to find notes of soy, dense, dark and brooding ashy notes and umami. Cedar and ash, wood smoke and undergrowth. It will still show remnants of its blackcurrant and bramble nature. This wine is slumbering but alive.

Food Pairing This wine would pair beautifully with rich, hearty dishes such as roasted lamb, beef stew, or aged cheeses.

    About Chateau Croizet Bages:
Château Croizet-Bages is a renowned winery located in the Pauillac appellation of Bordeaux, France. The estate is part of the larger Bordeaux wine region, which is famous for producing some of the world's most prestigious and sought-after wines.

History: Château Croizet-Bages has a long and storied history, dating back to the 19th century. The estate was originally part of the larger Lynch-Bages estate, which has a history that can be traced back to the 17th century. In the mid-19th century, the property was divided, and Château Croizet-Bages was established as an independent estate.

Vineyards and Terroir: The vineyards of Château Croizet-Bages are situated on gravelly soils, typical of the Pauillac appellation. The gravelly soils are well-draining, forcing the vines to dig deep for water and nutrients, which helps produce grapes with concentrated flavors. The estate is planted primarily with Cabernet Sauvignon, the dominant grape variety in Pauillac, along with smaller amounts of Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
