Description
The Burmester LBV 2019 is an accessible yet sophisticated port that offers depth and balance, making it a great choice for both casual enjoyment and special occasions.
Tasting Notes
Deep ruby colour. Fresh and delicate nose, where notes of wild fruit are combined with balsamic notes of eucalyptus and mint. On the palate, it is velvety, soft, and well-structured. It combines wild red fruit flavours with a touch of chocolate, black berry fruit, and subtle wood notes. It has a nice acidity and a slight touch of alcohol, which is well-integrated with the wine’s overall profile.
Serving & Food Pairing
LBV Port should be served slightly below room temperature, ideally between 15-17°C (59-63°F). It will pair best with goats cheese, almonds, blue cheese, brownies, nuts, and chocolate but it can also enhance game based dishes that are accompanied by fruit-based sauces.
H.Burmester & Cia. is one of the leading Port wine producers in Portugal. Founded in 1750 by Henry Burmester and John Nash, it has a long history of producing high-quality Ports. The company is located in Vila Nova de Gaia, across the Douro River from Porto, and is known for its range of Port wines, including Tawny, Ruby, Vintage, and Colheita Ports. Burmester Ports are highly regarded for their quality and consistency, and the company has a reputation for producing some of the finest Ports in the Douro region. They are particularly known for their Colheita Ports, which are single-vintage Tawny Ports aged in oak barrels for an extended period before being bottled.

The aromas are delicate and varied, with plenty of tropical fruit, berries and grapes fully ripe. In its evolution are noticeable aromas of cocoa, chocolate and a slight toasted wood. The palate is dense and opaque. With a nice acidity, denotes a slight touch alcoholic who is very involved by notes of chocolate, black fruit and some wood.
