Description

Blandys Madeira has been synonymous with quality Madeira wine for over 200 years. The Blandys are unique in being the only family of all the original founders of the Madeira wine trade to still own and manage their own original wine company. The family has played a leading role in the development of Madeira wine throughout its long history and members of the family continue to live on Madeira, maintaining a tradition that goes back to 1811.

The Blandy's 10 Year Old Malmsey displays a clear, dark golden brown with green tinges at the rim. Complex and intense nose revealing a bouquet of wood, dried fruits, toffee and spices. Sweet, fresh and smooth with length, full bodied with lingering, smoky characteristics and extremely well balanced acidity.

This 10 year old Malmsey Madeira from Blandy's is fined and does not require decanting. It is a superb accompaniment to dessert dishes, especially fruit, cakes, rich chocolate puddings and cheeses. It has been bottled when ready for drinking and will keep for several months after opening.

Storage: Madeira wines are indestructible and have the fascinating ability to remain in excellent condition for centuries. Keep your bottle of Madeira wine upright, away from direct sunlight, and it will last forever. Once opened, a bottle of Madeira wine will remain in perfect condition for months, if not years. So, don't hurry to finish the bottle. That is, if you can resist..

Reviews

***Silver Medal IWSC 2023***
Nutty broad palate showing great typicity of Madeira. Lovely smoky tobacco with a caramel finish.

***Silver Medal Decanter 2023***

Lovely figgy and woody nose with a long, pleasantly bitter, savoury finish. Good development potential.
