From the outstanding 1979 Italian vintage, The Borgogno Barolo has a beautiful earthy red colour. There is a massive nose exploding out of the glass, with cherries, spices, vanilla cream, floral notes, and earth. There is a smooth velvet core, an endless finish, with lots of layers and a meaty quality. Outstanding! This wine is ready for drinking now but will keep until about 2014
