Founded in 1859 in Barbaresco, Piedmont, the Gaja family has been instrumental in elevating the region's wines to global acclaim. The term "Sorì" refers to a hilltop with a southern exposure in the local dialect, while "San Lorenzo" denotes the patron saint of Alba's cathedral, reflecting the vineyard's heritage.
