Description

The 1994 Château de Fargues is a sensory delight with a delightful blend of spring flowers, candied fruit, pineapple, figs, quince paste, and dried fruits. Its sweet and roasted flavours of vanilla, spice, saffron, star anise, dried fruits, acacia honey, toasted bread, citrus zest, and mineral touches make it a long-lasting wine.

Serving and Food pairing
The ideal serving temperature is usually around 10-12°C. Sauternes pairs excellently with a variety of foods due to its rich sweetness and vibrant acidity. Pair with blue cheese, foie gras and fruit desserts. It is also a great pairing to spicy Asian or Indian cuisine as the sweetness of the wine balances the heat in such dishes. Vintage Sauternes may throw a white crystal deposit which is a sign of quality.

Château de Fargues, located in the prestigious Sauternes appellation of Bordeaux, France, is a historic estate celebrated for its exquisite sweet wines. With a lineage tracing back to the 15th century and owned by the Lur Saluces family for over five centuries, this château embodies a rich heritage and a steadfast commitment to quality. The vineyards, planted on gravelly and clay-limestone soils, predominantly feature Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc grapes, which are meticulously cultivated to produce wines of exceptional richness, complexity, and balance. Château de Fargues employs traditional winemaking techniques, including hand-harvesting and the careful management of botrytis cinerea, or noble rot, to create wines with intense flavors and remarkable aging potential. Renowned for their opulent sweetness, vibrant acidity, and aromatic depth, the wines of Château de Fargues continue to captivate connoisseurs and uphold the estate's esteemed legacy in the world of Bordeaux's sweet wines.
